I have succumbed

Ive acquired a Smash Book! So I've been facing a journal/art journal hybrid dilemma. I say hybrid because most "art journals" seem to be more art and less actual writing and I love both! And want my journal to represent that.

I'm searching for the type of journal that works for me. While I love the journals I've been using because they are great for writing they don't really hold up that well under my paper and photo add ins. So I've purchased a Smash Book in order to deconstruct it. Find out why people think its fantastic, figure out what works for me and what doesn't. And the make my own! It's a recon mission.

I really want to put some Journal Kits in my shop but I have hesitated because I want them to be just right. So... Here are a few pictures of some of my favorite pages in the new book!

  1. I just got a Smash Book yesterday! I'm new to journaling, but I heard so much talk about it, so I finally got one. Want to use mine for little souvenir type things I think!

  2. That's so great! Which one did you get? We should exchange pictures of finished pages. That would be so fun!

  5. I'm with you on that one, lol. I'm sure I can make mine go that long too! Will you be posting pictures of what you're doing with it? I'd love to see, since I'm new at this, but it looks like so much fun!

  8. I know what you mean about journal/art journal. I don't really do "art", but I do keep a kind of scrapbook/journal/thingy (as I call it), where I stick photos, ephemera, whatever and write little things to remind me what was going on. One of my pages is featured on my blog

  9. Thanks Lisa!!! I'm having quite a bit of fun. I think I've finally found what works for me. Funny enough it's how my scrapbooks used to be. Part scrap part journal. The hidden pockets for journal entries have been the best idea ever. Your page is awesome!!! Thirsty Bitch... LOL

  10. Thanks! I had fun making that page. I had never done this kind of scrap/journal/thingy until we left the UK for "a new life in France" nearly 3 years ago and my style has changed a lot in just that time. I must try some hidden pockets!!!
